yeah, that Ashley Smith. the Ashley Smith who was kicking it with the Big O yesterday. the unwitting heroine (no pun intended), and unlikely angel who almost convinced Atlanta courthouse shooter, Brian Nichols, to turn himself in. i mean, it may not be all that serious, but something is surely amiss here. the devil, as they say, is in the details. and having seen a lot of the local coverage, i don't recall Meth of weed having been mentioned.

i mean, you're a Meth addict. you have some in the crib, and you happen to offer some to the homicidal manic that has taken you hostage. but in a time of high stress you don't partake because you've had a moment of clarity? perhaps. but i'm a cynic and skeptic, and i'm learning that we should be more concerned with what people don't say rather than what they do say.

then of course there are the Mandingo-ish issues poppin off with this whole scenario. but that's history for you. for an indefinite amount of time, poor will be synonymous with people of color, inappropriately funny Negroes will always be accused of coonin', and brothers will always be savages - in the minds of many.

or at least that's how looks from my side of the fence. i could be wrong, though.....
